Because it was unfamiliar territory, I could realize and learn things.

When job hunting, I did not limit myself to familiar fields and instead tried to broaden my horizons. ROHTO Pharmaceutical has a wide range of businesses. I decided to join the company so that I could take on challenges in new areas. My job is not directly related to my research as a student, and that is why I value the things that I can realize and learn. One reason I chose ROHTO is because I wanted to work with the employees that I talked with during a short-term internship.

I am searching for new seeds for the future.

Have you heard of needs and seeds? They are words often used in regards to product development. Needs are challenges faced by the world, society, and customers. The cause and resolution are the starting point of research that leads to product development. Seeds are the unique technology and strengths possessed by companies anticipating future challenges. We use them in manufacturing. By taking steady action and broadly collaborating with others, original research will likely lead to results. Our division thinks both needs and seeds are important. I work with others in ROHTO to find new seeds, nurture them, and provide the results to society. It is an exciting job.

It is important to follow through with things I decide to do.

Under the Double Job system, I work in basic research as well as human resources training globally-minded workers. Honestly, I was surprised to get an opportunity in human resources as a person working in research and development. I am a young foreign national, and I'm not confident that I can understand people well. At first, I was unsure whether I could contribute. However, I was thankful for the opportunity. I decided that I would try to contribute and learn in my own way. The solution I reached is simple. And that is to approach things seriously. I discovered many things by making a serious effort. Seed research is about searching for new seeds without a set endpoint, but in human resources, the ideal person is the endpoint, and we have to make strategies based on that. I experienced an opposite approach.

I work hard to not miss chances.

The human resources job is still new to me, and I learned to see things in new ways and that there are other approaches to work. The most important thing I learned is that is it important to take chances even if they are happenstance or recommended by others. I face my work positively to be ready for current and future chances. They can provide new viewpoints and hints that will improve the quality of my work and my perspectives.

I want to learn more about myself as an individual.

Lately, I've been asking myself if I could stand as an individual in research and development without ROHTO. In other words, what value could I provide not as a ROHTO employee working in a large company, but by myself. I still don't have an answer, but I want to find one. I want to create something new on my own merits.
